Psychological Assessments
I have extensive experience with assessments, including psychological assessments, risk assessments and child and family investigations. I have also provided trainings and supervision on issues related to assessments and evaluations. I am experienced with the following: Personality Tests; Risk Assessments; Projective Tests; Intelligence Tests; Child and Family Investigations; Achievement and Aptitude Tests
Psychological assessments are helpful for three reasons: (1) It’s easier to get information from tests than by a clinical interview alone; (2) The information from tests is more scientifically consistent than the information from a clinical interview and (3) It’s harder to get away with lying on a test than in a clinical interview.
Psychological assessments can be useful for: (1) Diagnostic Clarification; (2) Treatment Recommendations; (3) Rule out and/or confirm thought disorders, cognitive abilities and/or social abilities; (4) Provide clinical information from guarded clients or those with poor insight ; (5) Ability to live independently or maintain employment; (6) Help clarify if someone is feigning or malingering
